Sorry for the delay...

Hey, I just want to say sorry for the delay on updating all of my links. I have had many people ask me why my links aren't working and the simple answer is....I have been super busy!! I am learning all of this website stuff as I go and realized that all of the pictures I took with my brother's awesome camera are way to big to upload. I am working on resizing all the pics I am gonna use so it is taking a little longer than expected. I also came down with some wicked illness on Friday and was out of commission for most of the weekend. Please keep coming back.... I promise to blog daily!! On a lighter note, here is another frame I made for my "sister" Kim for Christmas....she loved it!

Sew Pretty...

I would love to learn how to sew. I love to search for things people have made for their kids or house. My parents and in-laws both bought me a sewing machine for Christmas this year and sadly they are still in the box....both sewing machines. Please don't hate me....I have just been SUPER busy and had no time to dig in! Soooo...maybe after a while I will be able to feature things I have sewn instead of glued or nailed together. If anyone wants to come over and teach me.....by all means I'm ready to learn! My mother-in-law decided she wanted to become a quilter in the past few years and has turned Patrick's old room into her new sewing room. When her birthday rolled around this year it hit me like a ton of bricks....I wanted to make her a sewing box. Now, anyone who has any sort of hobby knows that with hobbies comes stuff. This is stuff that you NEED. I love boxes....and bins....and organizational things especially when they are pretty to hold all of my necessities for crafting....I'm pretty sure quilters NEED the same thing. So, I made this for my wonderful, bestest, most amazing mother-in-law in the world (maybe she will teach me a thing or two).

Yep....its a box. A really pretty box. I used Graphic 45 paper on this (if you haven't seen Graphic 45 paper you are missing out). It turned out just as I envisioned. She loved it and even recommended that I make some to sell. Well I am gonna do just that! Stay tuned for these lovely boxes. Yep a box....who would of thought a box could make someone so happy!!!

Short, Sweet and to the Point!!!

Well after a wonderful evening with a long lost friend I have come to share. I had an awesome night of girl talk over Mexican tortilla soup with a long lost friend from high school this evening and it was awesome. I can honestly say that Facebook is responsible for many rekindled friendships. This post is going to be short and sweet because I am ......well sleepy! I wanted to share another present made for my mom on mother's day!! This was my VERY FIRST ATTEMPT at a stacked wall cross.

This stacked cross is on a 16 * 20 frame which I stained myself. Wood Stain...I have a love/love relationship with wood stain. I love the way it looks and brings out everything beautiful about bare wood but I would love it even more if I was an expert on the art of staining wood. Since this is such a labor of love for me I was patient with the wood stain and in the end I feel like it made this piece look very nice! Mom loved it so much she made Dad hang it that very weekend! My cross now hangs in the center off all of her other cherished crosses!

Also,

Please go check out my friend Kelsey's blog, Kreated By Kelsey. She is the girl who created my blog. She does a great job and is very sweet!! Thanks so much for the support!!

Good News - My business cards are here!!

I received an email today telling me that my business cards were on their way to my house!!!! Woo hoo! I rushed home after work and low and behold.....there were no business cards waiting for me. After waiting a while and being a little bummed I heard a tap on the front door. Now, I am not one to rush to the door and swing it open after the sun goes down but I didn't think twice about doing just that this time. There they were in all their glory.....my very own business cards! I am happy to say that I am now the proud owner of business cards...with my name on them. I only ordered 100. The new goal is to NEED to order more in a couple of months.

These are the candle corsets I made to go along with my mom's frame. I thought her frame would look lonely on the mantle so I designed these to share the spotlight. I love to make these corsets. I just feel like it adds a special element to any room. Here are a few more pics of the trio. Enjoy!!

Please excuse the fact that the candles are still in the wrapper...after realizing this I unwrapped the candles and put them back in their home on the mantle.

A piece from my heart

Well this site is still a "work in progress" but as promised I am going to start revealing new products and little by little will let everyone know what I have in store (no pun intended) for The Scarlet Chandelier. This is a labor of love for me so I don't want to post something out on the internet that I don't truly believe in. Please be patient with me while I build my site and I promise I will give it my all. Today, I am going to post one of the products I intend on selling online. I will reveal a new piece everyday this week that I created before deciding to start my own business. I hope you will follow me on my creative journey. My goal is to have all of my links finished by the end of the week so everyone can start shopping!!! :)I also intend to keep this blog updated weekly so you can follow along on my journey. Again, thanks so much for the support.

This is a creation made especially for the most important lady in my life. My mother, is the best lady in the world and deserves only the best. I gave this to my mom for Christmas 2009. When she unwrapped it her eyes filled with tears and that is probably the best compliment I have ever received. I owe everything to my mom she is my hero and to make her happy meant the world to me! These are just a few more of the same...let me know what you think!!
